An American journalist has denounced the US National Security Agency as an œout of control” organization that is “violating the constitution.”
œThe NSA is out of control. The NSA is also totally controlled by the executive branch, or so we™re supposed to believe, either way we have a problem,” Rob Kall, Executive Editor at OpEdNews.com, told Press TV on Monday.
œWe have an agency that is violating the constitution and is offending our friends all over the world,” Kall said. œIt is clear that the people who run the NSA don™t care about the constitution. They have repeatedly and aggressively violated the law.”
The New York Times reported on Saturday that the NSA is exploiting its huge collections of data on American citizens™ to identify their social connections and construct their detailed social graphs.
The sophisticated graphs provide the NSA agents with direct and indirect œcontact chains” between Americans and people or organizations overseas that are of foreign intelligence interest, the report said citing documents provided by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.
Kall blamed the Obama administration and the NSA™s top leadership for most of the agency™s problems.
President Barack œObama is not going to shut down the NSA, it™s his tool, he™s using it. Obama is part of the problem, a big part of the problem,” he said.
œWe have an NSA that is engaging everyday in violations of privacy that are illegal and against the rules,” he added.
”Many of the leaders at the top of the intelligence system have lied to Congress and every one of them should be terminated from their jobs and jailed for lying to Congress,” Kall said.
