Inspired by Trevor Paglen’s book ‘Blank Spots on the Map’, artist Josh Begley has collected on Google and Bing Maps satellite pictures of all known US. military bases around the world and created a map.
The Daily Mail reports:
“The Pentagon says there are around 5,000 bases in total with around 600 overseas…
Begley has found the coordinates for 650 bases, and published pictures for 644 of them.”
Begley’s work is available at http://empire.is/.
