A political analyst says the United States is using Israel as œshock troops” against independent-minded governments in the Middle East.
œIsrael is used by the United States as the shock troops against independent-minded governments in the region,” Leader in the United National Antiwar Committee Joe Iosbaker told Press TV on Tuesday.
œThe US government points to the hyperbolic militarism of Israeli government to justify their refusal to seriously negotiate toward any agreement. The US doesn™t want peace. They want the Iranian revolution to be swept away,” he added.
Iosbaker was referring to recent remarks made by US Secretary of State John Kerry, who, on Monday called on Tehran to come up with new nuclear proposals and said the ball remained in Iran’s court.
œThe group of six put a proposal on the table at Almaty and I don™t believe as of yet Iran has fully responded to that particular proposal. So I think we are waiting for the fullness of the Iranian difference in their approach now,” Kerry said in Indonesia after meeting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
œSo what we need are a set of proposals from Iran that will fully disclose how they will show the world that their program is peaceful,” Kerry added.
The analyst also said œthe US really doesn™t want to negotiate with Iran because their real goal is to get rid of the Iranian government.”
œIran signed the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. It is Israel that has over 100 nuclear weapons and Israel that has refused to sign Non-Proliferation Treaty,” Iosbaker said.
Iran and the P5+1 group (Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States — plus Germany) are scheduled to resume nuclear talks in Geneva on October 15 and 16.
