Iran felicitates Azeri pres. over election victory

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has felicitated his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev on the landslide victory in Azerbaijan’s presidential election.
In a in a congratulatory message on Friday, Rouhani extended his most sincere congratulations to Aliyev and expressed hope that the relations between Tehran and Baku would further develop on the basis of mutual respect.
The Iranian president also wished his Azeri counterpart well-being and success, and the prosperity and progress of Azerbaijan™s government and nation.
Aliyev overwhelmingly won a third five-year term in the October 9 presidential election, securing 84.6 percent of the vote.
