Defiant Brown defends his economic record التحدي براون يدافع عن مصالحه الاقتصادية سجل

Gordon Brown has been وقد غوردون براون forced to defend his premiershi اضطرت الى الدفاع عن premiershi p and in particular his economic record as he faced mounting criticism over the credit crisis. ف وخاصة فى بلدة لانه سجل الاقتصادية التي تواجه انتقادات متزايدة خلال ازمة الائتمان.
As Britain’s biggest mortgage lenders snubbed his calls to cut the cost of borrowing, the Prime Minister gave a series of interviews to insist he was only “starting” the job. كما بريطانيا اكبر الرهن العقاري المقرضين مزجور نداءاته لخفض تكلفة الاقتراض ، ورئيس الوزراء ، والقى سلسلة من المقابلات وكان يصر على الا "بداية" الوظيفة.
Amid criticism from opposition politicians and business leaders over his handling of the economy, Mr Brown disclosed that he had turned to his predecessor, Tony Blair, for advice on how to turn around his premiership. وسط انتقادات من المعارضة والسياسيين وقادة الاعمال التجارية على مدى معالجته للاقتصاد ، وكشف السيد براون إنه قد تحول الى سلفه ، توني بلير ، للحصول على المشوره بشأن كيفية تحويل تقريره حول رئاسة الوزراء.
The Prime Minister spoke out following a Downing Street summit with executives from Britain’s top banks ahead of a visit to New York. وتحدث رئيس الوزراء الى الشارع بعد اسقاط قمة مع التنفيذيين من كبار المصارف بريطانيا قبل زيارة الى نيويورك.
His comments came on a day when further evidence emerged of the worsening economic condions facing householders: وجاءت تعليقاته على اليوم الذي يكون فيه كذلك ظهرت ادلة condions الاقتصادية المتفاقمه التي تواجه الأسر المعيشيه :
Concern is also growing that unemployment figures to be published on Wednesday may reveal an increase in jobless workers in the last month. ويزداد القلق ايضا ان ارقام البطاله المتزايدة التي ستنشر يوم الاربعاء قد يكشف عن زيادة في العمال العاطلين في الشهر الماضي.
Mr Brown faced widespread political criticism over the credit crisis. السيد براون التي يواجهها النقد السياسي على نطاق واسع خلال ازمة الائتمان.
David Cameron accused the Prime Minister of being arrogant and out of touch and said he had wasted public money on a “gargantuan scale”. واتهم ديفيد كاميرون رئيس وزراء يجري الغطرسه وبعيدة وقال انه على اهدار المال العام "gargantuan النطاق".
The head of the CBI, Richard Lambert, launched a personal attack on Mr Brown accusing him of jeopardising the country’s entrepreneurial culture. رئيس المصرف المركزي ، ريتشارد لامبرت ، شنت الهجوم على شخصية السيد براون متهمة اياه jeopardising للبلد وثقافة لاقامة المشاريع.
David Blunkett, the previously loyal former Home Secretary, warned Mr Brown that scrapping the 10p rate of income tax would “crucially” affect lower earners. Blunkett ديفيد ، التي سبق الموالية لوزير الداخلية السابق ، وحذر السيد براون ان تخريد 10p فان معدل ضريبة الدخل من شأنه ان "حاسمة" سيؤثر على الذين يكسبون اقل.
And Lord Jones, the trade secretary who is expected to resign before the next election, was forced to pledge his support to the Prime Minister. واللورد جونز ، من الامين التجارة ومن المتوقع ان الاستقالة قبل الانتخابات المقبلة ، واضطر الى تعهد دعمه لرئيس الوزراء.
Also on Tuesday, the Bank of England released another £15 billion of taxpayer-backed loans for British banks in an attempt to ease the credit crisis. ايضا يوم الثلاثاء ، بنك انكلترا اطلاق سراح آخر 15 مليار جنيه استرليني من القروض المدعومه من دافع الضرائب البريطاني على المصارف في محاولة للتخفيف من ازمة الائتمان.
And ahead of his trip to America - where it is feared he may be overshadowed by a visit from the Pope - the Prime Minister repeatedly tried to show that he was capable of pulling Britain through the economic crisis. وقبل سفره الى أمريكا -- حيث قال انه يخشى ان يكون قد تلقى بظلالها على زيارة البابا -- رئيس الوزراء مرارا وتكرارا وحاول ان يظهر انه قادر على سحب بريطانيا خلال الازمة الاقتصادية.
His comments followed a series of poor poll ratings and unrest from some Labour backbenchers about his ability to show clear leadership. تعليقاته في اعقاب سلسلة من استطلاعات الرأي الفقراء والاضطراب من بعض أعضاء البرلمان عن العمل لاظهار قدرته على قيادة واضحة.
In one interview, he insisted: “I’m starting a job that I mean to continue.” فى مقابلة واحدة ، وأصر على : "انني ابتداء من وظيفة لانه يعني الاستمرار فيه".
In another he even admitted that he had spoken to Mr Blair about the problems. في آخر حتى انه اقر بانه كان قد تحدث الى السيد بلير عن المشاكل. He said: “I have worked with Tony for years and we’re very good friends. وقال : "لقد عملت مع توني لسنوات ونحن اصدقاء جيدة جدا. We talk often about some of these things. وكثيرا ما نتحدث عن بعض من هذه الأشياء. I think after ten years of one party in government, you’ve obviously got to be able.” واعتقد بعد عشرة اعوام من طرف واحد في الحكومة ، ومن الواضح ان كنت قد وصلت الى ان تكون قادرة ".
Following criticism that he was increasingly out of touch with the economic concerns of ordinary people, Mr Brown also used the media appearances to empathise with voters. بعد انتقادات متزايدة انه كان على اتصال مع من المجلس الاقتصادي اهتمامات الناس العاديين ، السيد براون ايضا استخدام وسائل الاعلام الى المثول empathise مع الناخبين.
He said: “I wake up in the morning thinking what can we do to help homeowners, to help those people who have got small businesses, people looking for jobs, people wanting opportunities so they can have better jobs for the future.” وقال : "استيقظ في الصباح التفكير ماذا يمكننا ان نفعل لمساعدة اصحاب البيوت ، لمساعدة هؤلاء الناس حصلوا من الاعمال التجارية الصغيرة ، ولمن يبحثون عن فرص العمل ، والشعب يريد الفرص ، حتى أنها يمكن أن تكون لها وظائف افضل للمستقبل."
He added: “And we will do everything in our power to make sure we’re on the side of ordinary hard-working families who need a government on their side, that we will take the action necessary.” واضاف : "وسوف نبذل كل ما في وسعنا للتأكد من نحن على جانب العاديه يعملون بجد من الاسر في حاجة الحكومة الى جانبهم ، ان علينا اتخاذ الاجراءات اللازمة".
Mr Brown insisted he “recognised” the financial difficulties facing families. وأصر السيد براون انه "معترف بها" الصعوبات المالية التي تواجه الاسر. But he said he was prepared to risk unpopularity in order to make the right “long-term” decisions for the country. ولكنه قال إنه على استعداد للخطر اللاشعبيه من اجل جعل الحق في "طويلة الاجل" قرارات للبلد.
“What people would not thank me for is taking the wrong long-term decisions,” he said. "شعب ما من شأنه أن اشكر لي لا ليأخذ خطا قرارات طويلة الاجل". “The right long-term decisions are to keep inflation low and keep interest rates low.” "الحق في قرارات طويلة الاجل هي لابقاء التضخم منخفضا وابقاء اسعار الفاءده منخفضه."
The Prime Minister’s comments have been attacked by both his own backbenchers and opposition politicians as they were not accompanied by firm policy initiatives. رئيس الوزراء تعليقات قد هاجمت بلدة من جانب كل من أعضاء البرلمان والسياسيين المعارضين لانها لم تكن مصحوبه سياسة ثابتة المبادرات.

However, following the meeting, Halifax, the country’s biggest mortgage lender, announced it will increase the cost of its two-year fixed rate mortgages. ومع ذلك ، وبعد الاجتماع ، هاليفاكس ، اكبر بلد المقرض الرهن العقاري ، واعلنت انها ستزيد من تكلفة لمدة سنتين سعر الصرف الثابت ، والرهون العقاريه. At the Downing Street meeting, the Prime Minister was told by the banks that they wanted the Bank of England to offer more assistance and to accept mortgages as collateral for state-backed loans. في الشارع لأسقاط الجلسة ، ابلغ رئيس الوزراء من قبل البنوك التي ارادوا ان بنك انكلترا الى تقديم المزيد من المساعدة لقبول والرهون العقاريه وكضمان للقروض المدعومه من الدولة.
The Bank is understood to be considering the request, but the Conservatives accused Mr Brown of failing to adequately address the crisis. البنك ومن المفهوم ان يكون النظر في الطلب ، ولكن المحافظين واتهم السيد براون عن فشلها في معالجة الازمة على نحو كاف.
George Osborne, the shadow Chancellor, said: “In typical Gordon Brown style, the only concrete decision that came out of his meeting with bankers was the promise of another meeting - this time with his understudy, Alistair Darling. جورج اوزبورن ، المستشار الظل ، وقال : "غوردون براون في نمطيه الاسلوب الوحيد ملموسة المقرر ان خرج من لقائه مع المصرفيين وكان وعد اجتماع اخر -- وهذه المرة مع الممثل البديل له ، اليستير دارلينغ.
“With more gloomy news on housing it is time for the government to stop dithering. "مع مزيد من الأخبار القاتمه على الاسكان لقد حان الوقت للحكومة لوقف الارتباك. We need to unfreeze the mortgage market. ونحن بحاجة الى الافراج عن سوق الرهن العقاري. That way we can help thousands of families facing higher mortgage bills as a result of the credit crunch.” وبهذه الطريقة يمكننا مساعدة الالاف من الاسر التي تواجه ارتفاع فواتير الرهن العقاري نتيجة للازمة الائتمان ".
