The Bush administration has told a federal judge it was not obligated to preserve videotapes of CIA interrogations of suspected terrorists and urged the court not to look into the tapes’ destruction. ادارة بوش قد قال قاض اتحادي انها ليست ملزمة للحفاظ على اشرطه فيديو من وكالة المخابرات المركزية الاستجوابات للارهابيين المشتبه فيهم وحثت المحكمه على عدم النظر في اشرطه 'الدمار.
In court documents filed Friday night, government lawyers told US District Judge Henry H. Kennedy that demanding information about the tapes would interfere with current investigations by Congress and the Justice Department. اودعت وثائق المحكمه في ليلة الجمعة ، الحكومة والمحامين وقال قاضي محكمة المقاطعه الامريكية هنري حاء كينيدي ان يطالب معلومات عن الاشرطه ان يتدخل في التحقيقات الجاريه حاليا من قبل الكونغرس وزارة العدل.
It is the first time the government has addressed the issue of the videotapes in court. انها المرة الاولى التي تعالج الحكومة هذه المساله من اشرطه الفيديو في المحكمه.
Kennedy ordered the Bush administration in June 2005 to safeguard “all evidence and information regarding the torture, mistreatment, and abuse of detainees now at the United States Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay.” كينيدي امرت ادارة الرئيس جورج بوش في حزيران / يونية 2005 للحفاظ على "جميع الادله والمعلومات بشأن تعذيب وسوء معاملة ، وسوء معاملة المحتجزين حاليا في قاعدة الولايات المتحدة البحرية في خليج غوانتانامو".
Five months later, the CIA destroyed the interrogation videos. خمسة اشهر فى وقت لاحق ، دمرت وكالة المخابرات المركزية الاستجواب واشرطه الفيديو.
Government lawyers told Kennedy the tapes were not covered by his court order because Abu Zubaydah and Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri — the suspected terrorists whose interrogations were videotaped and then destroyed — were not at the Guantanamo military prison in Cuba. وقال محامي الحكومة كينيدي الاشرطه غير مشموله له أمر من المحكمه لان ابو زبيدة وعبد الرحيم الناشري -- الارهابيين المشتبه فيهم الذين عمليات الاستجواب على شريط فيديو وبعد ذلك دمرت -- لم تكن في سجن غوانتانامو العسكرية في كوبا.
The men were being held overseas in a network of secret CIA prisons. هؤلاء الرجال كانوا محتجزين في الخارج في شبكة من السجون السرية وكالة المخابرات المركزية. By the time President Bush acknowledged the existence of those prisons and the prisoners were transferred to Guantanamo, the tapes had been destroyed. بحلول الوقت الذي اقر الرئيس بوش بوجود تلك السجون والسجناء نقلوا الى غوانتانامو ، والاشرطه قد دمرت.
Attorney General Michael Mukasey on Friday refused to give Congress details of the government’s investigation into the matter, saying that doing so could raise questions about whether the inquiry was vulnerable to political pressure. المدعي العام مايكل mukasey يوم الجمعة رفض اعطاء تفاصيل المؤتمر من الحكومة التحقيق في هذا الامر ، قائلا ان القيام بذلك يمكن ان تثير تساؤلات حول ما اذا كان التحقيق كان عرضة للضغط السياسي.
