Two gunmen have threatened at gunpoint the daughter of former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair in a suspicious robbery in London.
The men held Kathryn Blair and a close friend at gunpoint and demanded cash and jewellery. Shortly after the pair fled the scene without stealing anything.
London Metropolitan Police said the botched robbery occurred on Monday evening in Marylebone, an upstate part of London city centre.
Å“Kathryn was with a group of friends. No one was hurt and nothing was stolen”, a spokesman for the Blair family said.
The incident was similar to a scare tactic such as that used by terrorists and hitmen, causing no injuries and no loss to the victims.
Met Police have yet to arrest the suspects while the motives over the attempted robbery remain unclear.
Back in August, Blair urged for military action on Syria. He decided to initiate the 2003 Iraq war, against the word of the public. He faces charges of war crimes in a UK tribunal and was found guilty of similar charges in a Malaysian court.
Blair is partly responsible for killing 600 people after he launched the Kosovo war in 1999 by using the royal prerogative that allows action without parliamentary consent.
