Al-Qaeda-linked militants have partially seized control of the Iraqi city of Fallujah

The western Iraqi city of Fallujah was the scene of some of the most notorious battles of the Iraq war last decade. Years later, it’s been reported that Al Qaeda-linked militants control at least half of the city, as well as parts of another Sunni city in the same Anbar province, Ramadi. Iraqi special forces have been battling to wrest control back from the militants in Fallujah. Newshour’s James Coomarasamy spoke to Rafid Jaboori from the BBC’s Arabic Service — a serious situation?
