Scotland Υαρδ σήμερα αναγνώρισε ότι η εδαφική ομάδα δειγμένο ανώτεροι υπάλληλοι Taser υποστήριξης ζαλίζει τα πυροβόλα όπλα σε μια επιδρομή στους διαμαρτυρομένους που συνδέεται με G20
επίδειξη.

Δύο νέα βίντεο παρουσιάζουν ότι οι διαμαρτυρόμενοι βρίσκονταν στο έδαφος με το τους παραδίδουν τον αέρα όταν έκρηξη αστυνομίας στη στάση οκλαδόν στο ανατολικό Λονδίνο.

Το μήκος σε πόδηα παρουσιάζει έναν ανώτερο υπάλληλο που δείχνει το όπλο 50.000 βολτ σε μια συνεδρίαση ομάδας στο πάτωμα της στάσης οκλαδόν κόμη Street σε Bishopsgate.

Τα βίντεο έχουν δημιουργήσει τα ερωτήματα πέρα από εάν η χρήση του Taser παρέβη τις οδηγίες αστυνομίας.

Αυτοί δηλώνουν ότι το όπλο πρέπει μόνο να συρθεί ή να βαλθεί φωτιά όταν υπάρχει ένας κίνδυνος σοβαρής βίας, για παράδειγμα όταν οπλίζεται ένας επικίνδυνος ύποπτος με ένα μαχαίρι.

Scotland Υαρδ εν λόγω Tasers δεν βάλθηκε φωτιά κατά τη διάρκεια της επιδρομής αλλά εκδόθηκε λόγω της νοημοσύνης ότι αντιμετώπισαν μια σοβαρή απειλή.

Μητροπολιτικό μέλος αστυνομικής αρχής Jenny Jones εν λόγω ανησύχησε για την επέκταση Tasers λέγοντας: «Θα επιθυμούσα να ξέρω εάν επέρασαν από όλες τις σωστές διαδικασίες.»

Σήμερα οι συνερχόμενοι επιβεβαιωμένοι ανώτεροι υπάλληλοι TSG οδήγησαν την επιδρομή στη στάση οκλαδόν.

Μια εκπρόσωπος είπε: «Μια αξιολόγηση του κινδύνου πραγματοποιήθηκε για να καλύψει μια δυναμική είσοδο μέσα σε τις άγνωστες ιδιότητες και η φύση της αστυνομίας νοημοσύνης είχε σχετικά με ποιος μπορεί να είναι μέσα. Κατά συνέπεια Taser εξουσιοδοτήθηκε για να ληφθεί στη λειτουργία.»

Η Hannah McClure, 21, που ήταν στη στάση οκλαδόν, είπε: «Καθίσαμε στο πάτωμα με τα χέρια μας που παρουσιάζουν ειρηνικές προθέσεις μας. Δωδεκάδες της αστυνομίας ταραχής που εισάγονται. Θυμάμαι έναν ανώτερο υπάλληλο με ένα πυροβόλο όπλο Taser. Τον έδειξε σε μας και φώναξε σε μας για να βρεθεί πρόσωπο κάτω από και με τα όπλα που τεντώθηκαν έξω. Η πολύ άμεση και καταχρηστική γλώσσα χρησιμοποιήθηκε.

«Άκουσα ότι ένας τύπος έλαβε περισσότερη κατάχρηση επειδή ήταν μαγνητοσκόπηση. Πήραν τον τύπο μακριά και πιό πρόσφατος τον άκουσα φωνάζω, βοηθώ, χρειάζομαι έναν γιατρό».

«Βάζω στο έδαφος για περίπου 30 λεπτά και δέθηκα με χειροπέδες έπειτα, αναζητήθηκα και τέθηκα υπό κράτηση στην υποψία της βίαιας συμπεριφοράς. Αφέθηκα ψυχολογικά και συναισθηματικά αποστραγγιζόμενος, συγκλονισμένος στην τακτική που χρησιμοποιήθηκε από την αστυνομία. Αισθάνομαι ότι τα νομικά μέτρα πρέπει να ληφθούν για αυτήν την περιττή και βίαια επιδρομή.»

Το έλος DOM, 26, ένας άλλος επιδεικνύων στη στάση οκλαδόν, είπε: «Ήταν τρομακτικό. They rushed in and one was carrying this Taser. He faced the room with his legs apart and was pointing it at people. We were all really shocked. One of the people next to me was filming it. He got hit with a baton. Anyone who was not lying on their front got hit.”

In a separate development today, one of Parliament’s most senior MPs said police should be made to display their names as well as numbers to make them more easily accountable. Keith Vaz, chairman of the Commons home affairs select committee, also said this would “humanise” officers and improve relations with the public.

“We have to think about humanising the police and make them more accountable and that means showing their names, which are much easier for the public to remember.”

Mr Vaz’s call came as MPs prepared to launch a new inquiry into the policing of public protests and a separate probe into the handling of cases by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

The first inquiry will begin tomorrow when the IPCC’s chairman Nick Hardwick and the new Chief Inspector of Constabulary Denis O’Connor appear before the committee to face questioning about the G20 protests.

It is expected to be followed by further hearings if MPs agree more witnesses should give testimony on the police’s controversial “kettling” tactic and alleged brutality by some officers.

The second inquiry into the operation and effectiveness of the IPCC will take place later this year, although Mr Hardwick will also be challenged about this during tomorrow’s hearing.

Mr Vaz added he wanted to see a Parliamentary statement or debate on the G20 protests, but said the home affairs select committee hearings would help fill the void by allowing MPs to discuss police tactics.

“There have been calls for a public debate on this and Denis O’Connor has been asked to conduct a review by the Met, but Parliament should not be left out of this,” he said.

Meanwhile, the joint Human Rights Committee, which published a critical report into public order policing, is considering re-opening its inquiry in the wake of the G20 protests.
