Hundreds held in US anti-war march مئات من دولارات الولايات المتحدة الذي عقد في اذار / مارس المناهضه للحرب

Nearly 200 protesters have been arrested during a march in Washington DC held to demand the return of troops from Iraq and the impeachment of George Bush, the US president. ما يقرب من 200 من المحتجين قد اعتقلوا اثناء مسيرة في العاصمة واشنطن الذي عقد للمطالبة بعودة القوات من العراق والاقاله من جورج بوش ، رئيس الولايات المتحدة.

The arrests took place as police used chemical sprays on protesters attempting to climb over barricades outside the Capitol building. الاعتقالات جرت كما استخدمت الشرطة المرشات الكيمياءيه على المحتجين بمحاوله التسلق فوق المتاريس خارج مبنى الكابيتول.

Up to 1,000 counter-protesters gathered close by and chanted angrily at the anti-war protesters as they marched to the Capitol. يصل الى 1000 مضادة تجمع المتظاهرون الوثيق به وهتف بغضب على المحتجين المناهضين للحرب لانها وسار الى العاصمة.

Demonstrators had gathered outside the White House before heading toward the US Capitol building. المتظاهرون تجمعوا امام البيت الابيض يتجه الى مبنى الكابيتول الامريكى.

The demonstrations come days after General David Petraeus, the senior US commander in Iraq, testified to the US congress on conditions in Iraq. المظاهرات تأتى بعد ايام من العام petraeus ديفيد ، وكبار القائد الامريكى فى العراق ، ويشهد على الكونجرس الامريكى على الأوضاع في العراق.

“One of the differences with this demonstration is that it is being led by Iraqi war veterans,” she said. "واحدة من الخلافات مع هذه المظاهره هي انه يجري بقيادة العراقي المحاربين القدماء ،" قالت.

Veterans protest قدامى المحاربين احتجاج

Phil Aliff, 21, marched as a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War. فل aliff ، 21 ، وسار بوصفها عضوا في العراق المحاربين القدماء ضد الحرب.

Relatives of soldiers who are serving or had served in Iraq were a key group within the public demonstration. اقارب الجنود الذين يخدمون او خدموا في العراق كانوا فريقا اساسيا ضمن مظاهرة عامة.

Diane Santoriello held a photograph of her son Neil, who was killed in Iraq in August 2004. ديان santoriello عقدت صورة ابنها نيل ، الذي لقي مصرعه في العراق في اب / اغسطس 2004.

“I am here to get congress to de-fund the war,” she said. "انا هنا لاحصل على الكونغرس لدي - الصندوق الحرب ،" قالت.

Speakers at the anti-war demonstration included Cindy Sheehan, an activist whose son was killed while serving in Iraq. المتحدثون في المظاهره المناهضه للحرب سيندي شيهان المدرجه ، وهو ناشط الابن الذي قتل اثناء خدمتهم في العراق.

US public support for the war is at an all-time low, with 62 per cent of Americans believing that invading Iraq was a mistake, according to a New York Times/CBS poll published last week. العام الامريكى عن تأييده للحرب التي هي في ادنى مستوى لها على الاطلاق ، مع ان 62 في المائة من الاميركيين تعتقد ان غزو العراق كان خطأ ، وفقا لصحيفة نيويورك تايمز / سى بى اس استطلاع نشر الاسبوع الماضي.

Counter-protest الاحتجاج المضاد

Counter-protesters gathered near the anti-war march, frequently chanting “USA” and waving US flags. مضادة وتجمع المتظاهرون بالقرب من اذار / مارس المناهضه للحرب ، وكثيرا ما الهتاف "الولايات المتحدة الامريكية" والتلويح الاعلام الاميركية.

Retired Air Force Lt. Col.
