I tried counting backwards,<\/span>
I tried counting sheep.<\/span>
The leftovers beckoned,<\/span>
The dark meat and white.<\/span>
But I fought the temptation,<\/span>
With all of my might.<\/span>
Tossing and turning,<\/span>
with anticipation.<\/span>
The thought of a snack<\/span>
became infatuation.<\/span>
So I raced to the kitchen,<\/span>
Flung open the door,<\/span>
And gazed at the fridge,<\/span>
Full of goodies galore.<\/span>
I gobbled up turkey,<\/span>
And buttered potatoes,<\/span>
Pickles and carrots,<\/span>
Beans and tomatoes.<\/span>
I felt myself swelling,<\/span>
So plump and so round.<\/span>
\u2018til all of a sudden,<\/span>
I rose off the ground.<\/span>
I crashed through the ceiling,<\/span>
Floating into the sky,<\/span>
With a mouthful of pudding,<\/span>
And a handful of pie.<\/span>
But I managed to yell<\/span>
As I soared past the trees<\/span>
Happy eating to all,<\/span>
Pass the cranberries, please!!<\/span>
May your stuffing be tasty<\/span>
May your turkey be plump.<\/span>
May your potatoes and gravy<\/span>
Have nary a lump.<\/span>
May your yams be delicious,<\/span>
May your pies take the prize<\/span>
And May your Thanksgiving dinner<\/span>
Stay off of your thighs!<\/span>
