Thursday\u2019s release will mark the first step in what promises to be a lengthy battle with Democratic lawmakers over how much of the report they are allowed to see.<\/p>\n<p>Barr will send the report after lawyers from the Justice Department and the office of the special counsel finish redacting portions of the roughly 400-page document. Barr, appearing before a congressional panel last week, identified four areas of information that would be redacted: grand jury information, information that would reveal intelligence sources and methods, information that could interfere with ongoing prosecution and information that implicates the privacy of \u201cperipheral players.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"truth-post-content-high  inline-callout-container\" id=\"truth-1480533625\">\n<div class=\"truth-post-content-high\" id=\"truth-1203726623\">\n<aside class=\" callout inline-callout callout--subscribe callout--dark\" id=\"truth-1899136874\">\n<h2>The stories you care about, right at your fingertips<\/h2>\n<p>Get Truthout\u2019s daily edition delivered to your inbox.<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Barr said in a letter to lawmakers last month that the report \u201csets forth the special counsel\u2019s findings, his analysis and the reasons for his conclusions\u201d in Mueller\u2019s investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia and whether Trump had illegally obstructed the inquiry. \u201cEveryone will soon be able to read it on their own,\u201d Barr said of the report.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salon.com\/2019\/03\/24\/victory-for-trump-mueller-report-finds-no-evidence-of-campaign-conspiracy-with-russians\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mueller announced the completion of his investigation<\/a> into the president\u2019s campaign and foreign election interference late last month. Barr set off a political firestorm after he released a four-page summary of Mueller\u2019s report to Congress, in which he indicated the special counsel had not found evidence of criminal collusion or conspiracy between Trump\u2019s presidential campaign and Russia during the 2016 election cycle.
