Ilhan Omar\u2014one some are characterizing as an incitement of violence against her.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The call is in response to an edited video the president<span> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump\/status\/1116817144006750209\">posted<\/a><span> <\/span>on Twitter Friday afternoon. It also caps off a week in which Trump<span> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump\/status\/1115648055603343360\">encouraged<\/a><span> <\/span>the idea that Omar is somehow \u201cassaulting Jews\u201d and in which Omar<span> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2019\/04\/05\/ilhan-omar-death-threat-leads-to-arrest-of-new-york-man\/3379387002\/\">faced a death threat<\/a><span> <\/span>from a Trump supporter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrump\u2019s attacks on Representative Ilhan Omar are horrendous and continue to put her life in danger after she has already faced numerous death threats in recent months,\u201d said Waleed Shahid\u2014communications director for progressive advocacy group Justice Democrats\u2014 in a statement Saturday. Democratic Party leaders, he added, should do more \u201cto fight back on behalf of the new generation of leaders under constant attack by the right-wing war machine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a 200 mph ideological right-wing war machine coming after Ilhan Omar\u201d as well as fellow freshmen members of Congress and women of color Reps.
