Beginning with Paul Krugman\u2019s declaration in a July 22, 2016, <em>New York Times<\/em> op-ed that Trump was a \u201cSiberian Candidate,\u201d the <em>Times<\/em>, <em>Washington Post<\/em> and other news media carried hundreds of articles supposedly proving that Trump won the election through a nefarious conspiracy with Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<p>But Mueller, the former FBI director whose investigation spanned over 600 days, and who, according to the Justice Department, issued \u201c2,800 subpoenas, executed nearly 500 search warrants, obtained more than 230 orders for communication records\u2026 and interviewed approximately 500 witnesses,\u201d could find no evidence of these claims.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imageFull\" style=\"width:480px; oveflow:hidden;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wsws.org\/asset\/6d5d1a6f-a59a-4c5c-9ad5-3d367c16381F\/image.jpg?rendition=image480\" srcset=\"\/asset\/6d5d1a6f-a59a-4c5c-9ad5-3d367c16381F\/image.jpg?rendition=image960 2x\" width=\"480\" style=\"width:480px;\" \/><span>Director Mueller receives an ovation from Former President Obama and his appointee for FBI Director James Comey during a White House ceremony in June 2013 [Credit: White House]<\/span><\/div>\n<p>The outcome of the investigation is a debacle for the Democrats and their associated media outlets, leaving the fascist Trump in a stronger political position. \u201cNo Collusion, No Obstruction, Complete and Total EXONERATION,\u201d Trump declared on Twitter.
