His efforts to obstruct the inquiry were <a href=\"https:\/\/truthout.org\/articles\/if-theres-no-smocking-gun-why-is-trump-so-terrified\/\">egregious<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/truthout.org\/articles\/lying-to-robert-mueller-is-just-a-terrible-idea\/\">vocal<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/truthout.org\/articles\/at-long-last-donald-trump-knows-true-fear\/\">constant<\/a>, his denials <a href=\"https:\/\/truthout.org\/articles\/republicans-deny-collusion-as-manafort-busted-again\/\">facile and unconvincing<\/a> in their serial repetitions. His <a href=\"https:\/\/truthout.org\/articles\/trump-is-livid-because-he-cant-fire-all-the-investigators\/\">now-notorious Twitter eruption<\/a> the weekend before the report\u2019s conclusion was every inch the child frantically deflecting blame after pushing his sister down the stairs.<\/p>\n<p>The third week in January of this year provided a perfect example of the phenomenon when it was revealed that Trump made a habit of <a href=\"https:\/\/truthout.org\/articles\/the-republican-party-is-a-pack-of-cowards\/\">confiscating the translators\u2019 notes<\/a> after every meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin before swearing the translators to absolute secrecy. This was unprecedented behavior with potentially staggering implications, and never mind <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/opinion\/2019\/01\/13\/mounting-evidence-trump-fears-putin-compromising-information-column\/2564892002\/\">the hypocrisy<\/a>; had Barack Obama done something similar during his tenure, the outrage on the right would have been visible from space. With Trump, however, it was business as usual.<\/p>\n<p>The announced completion of Robert Mueller\u2019s investigation on Friday launched a 48-hour period of media mayhem not seen since a certain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crimemuseum.org\/crime-library\/artifacts\/oj-simpson-bronco\/\">white Bronco<\/a> was on the loose in California 25 years ago. Those who were expecting a detailed impeachment map to be immediately revealed endured a number of existential crises after exposing themselves to the television coverage.
