The media was afire with desperate attempts to spin the unspinnable.<\/p>\n<p>The AP subtly arranged its headline for maximum effect, while the BBC had passed on to the \u201c<em>acceptance<\/em>\u201d stage of grieving.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\"><center><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Trump just said it is a &#8220;complete and total exoneration.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Barr, literally quoting from Mueller: &#8220;While the report does not conclude that the president committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kylegriffin1\/status\/1109920366590394374?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 24, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/center><\/div>\n<div class=\"rtcode\"><center><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Barr\u2019s letter is careful to say he does not believe there is proof, beyond a reasonable doubt, of acts of obstruction with a nexus to an official investigation &amp; corrupt intent. Maxine Waters suggested that Trump had actually hypnotized his \u201c<em>sycophants<\/em>\u201d by repeating the \u201c<em>no collusion<\/em>\u201d line. \u201c<em>This is not the end of anything!<\/em>\u201d the congresswoman defiantly told Joy Reid. \u201c<em>There\u2019s so much that needs to be \u2013 you know \u2013 taken a look at this point<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\"><center><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Department of Justice has suggested it cannot provide Congress with evidence as to people not indicted.<\/p>\n<p>Not true. That&#8217;s why Trump made him AG.<\/p>\n<p>If Mueller did present arguments and evidence for why the President of the United States obstructed justice, they need to be made public. Ron Wyden blamed Barr for letting Trump get away, suggesting Mueller had dropped the ball by not indicting the president for obstruction himself \u2013 evidence be damned.<\/p>\n<p>House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer also released a statement demanding the release of the full report along with \u201c<em>underlying documentation<\/em>.\u201d After a 19-month investigation, there was surely a needle in this haystack, and the American people deserved to have a look.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the best response came from former FBI director James Comey, whose firing triggered the appointment of Mueller as special counsel in the first place.
