Pramila Jayapal, \u201creflects influence of hard-line progressive groups.\u201d Not quite a hit piece, but something very like it, the article said \u201ca slew of groups further to the left\u201d shaped the bill, which would \u201cupend health coverage for tens of millions of Americans,\u201d and \u201ccost many times more than the ACA.\u201d Which is why, the <em>Post<\/em> claims, \u201cTo some progressives, this is a step (or steps) too far.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Words like \u201cupend\u201d and \u201cdrastically\u201d do their work. And at one point, \u201cadvocates on the left\u201d are counterposed with \u201cmost health policy experts.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cSupporters of the Jayapal bill insist there\u2019s a groundswell of grassroots enthusiasm\u201d for overhauling the country\u2019s healthcare, the piece says\u2014without reference to any of various <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/health-reform\/poll-finding\/kff-health-tracking-poll-november-2018-priorities-congress-future-aca-medicaid-expansion\/\">polls<\/a> that would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/robertpearl\/2018\/08\/13\/midterms\/#9eb223636676\">indicate<\/a> precisely that.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"truth-post-content-high  inline-callout-container\" id=\"255792\">\n<div class=\"truth-post-content-high\" id=\"truth-256291349\">\n<aside class=\" inline-callout inline-callout--subscribe inline-callout--light\" id=\"255392\">\n<div class=\"inner-wrapper\">\n<h4>Never miss another story<\/h4>\n<p>Get the news you want, delivered to your inbox every day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>The thing is, public support for a fundamental change in the way we do healthcare persists, despite years of this sort of elite media treatment\u2014perhaps because for most Americans, healthcare is not a partisan debate, but a crisis.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Joining us now to talk about how Medicare for All would respond to that crisis is Diane Archer. Welcome to CounterSpin, Diane Archer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Diane Archer:<\/b><span> <\/span>Glad to be here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Well, can we start with just some basic information on Jayapal and more than 100 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/us-policy\/2019\/02\/26\/more-than-house-democrats-back-medicare-all-plan-presidential-candidates-spar-over-health-care\/?utm_term=.b5135c97bd49\">cosponsors\u2019 <\/a>Medicare for All Act? How, for instance, does it differ, or is it different, from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/berniesanders\/posts\/2178346178887041?comment_id=2178348872220105&amp;reply_comment_id=2106045056099544&amp;comment_tracking=%7B%22tn%22%3A%22R%22%7D\">proposal<\/a> Sen. Bernie Sanders put forward last year?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s quite similar to the Bernie Sanders<span> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/115th-congress\/senate-bill\/1804\">bill<\/a>.
