A university lecturer who quit his post after being accused of Islamophobia and sexism has hit out at students who have \u201csmug little minds,\u201d claiming they would have been loved by the repressive East German secret \u2018Stasi\u2019 police.<\/p>\n
Michael Blackburn, who taught creative writing and English Literature at the University of Lincoln, has written a scathing piece on his blog<\/a> in which he denounces \u201cwannabe leftist politicos\u201d<\/em> and \u201csocial-justice types\u201d<\/em> for behaving like a \u201cmob,\u201d<\/em> who seek to drive out dissenting views \u2013 like his.<\/p>\n They are now the witch hunters, but instead of condemning you, as the victim, to imprisonment, torture or death, you\u2019re banished to the soft gulag of shame, unemployment and the destruction of your reputation and career.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Blackburn has caused controversy with comments made on social media on issues such as women\u2019s rights and Islamophobia dating back several years, the Independent reports.<\/p>\n READ MORE:\u00a0\u2018Discredited race science\u2019: Academics unite against \u2018eugenicist\u2019 given Cambridge fellowship<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n In 2012, Blackburn tweeted his relief at not having to read anymore student papers on \u201cpatriarchy and the oppression of women\u201d<\/em> for another year.<\/p>\n In the wake of the London Bridge and Manchester Arena terrorist attacks in August 2017, he declared: \u201cI suspect these terrors [sic] attacks were carried out by Muslims because of Islam.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Academics, by and large, are actually open to new ways of thinking and mark a constructed argument, NOT what they agree with, which was Dr Blackburn’s mistake at Lincoln.
