One person who took exception is Jordan Peterson, a professor of psychology at the University of Toronto who rocketed into the spotlight for his courageous dissent against compelled speech. I support that stance taken by Peterson. Peterson also has a youtube presence, and this year his book <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.powells.com\/book\/-9780345816023?partnerid=36683&amp;p_bt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">12 Rules for Life: An Antidote for Crisis<\/a><\/em> (Penguin Random House UK) was published.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dissidentvoice.org\/2018\/04\/tackling-the-dogma-of-political-correctness\/jordan_dv\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-78869\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-78869\" src=\"https:\/\/dissidentvoice.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/jordan_DV-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dissidentvoice.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/jordan_DV-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/dissidentvoice.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/jordan_DV.jpg 316w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>Peterson\u2019s <em>12 Rules for Life<\/em> contains plenty of wisdom, but also plenty of bias, often ill-supported by facts or reason. Yet an anarchist physics professor <a href=\"https:\/\/dissidentvoice.org\/2018\/06\/jordan-peterson-and-the-threat-of-working-class-intellectual-and-attitudinal-liberation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">finds<\/a>, \u201cPeterson is having an impact because his important words are true and because oppressive false words have gone too far.\u201d Peterson, says the anarchist, is \u201cfighting for reason and objectivity and against ideological madness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, rational people will agree that discovering what best captures or approximates truth is important, as is exposing false narratives. Who cannot help but support \u201cfighting for reason and objectivity and against ideological madness.\u201d Yet Peterson can also be accused of ideological bias.
