{"id":386240,"date":"2018-11-23T12:29:08","date_gmt":"2018-11-23T11:29:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/the-political-fraud-of-alexandria-ocasio-cortezs-green-new-deal\/"},"modified":"2018-11-23T12:29:08","modified_gmt":"2018-11-23T11:29:08","slug":"the-political-fraud-of-alexandria-ocasio-cortezs-green-new-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/the-political-fraud-of-alexandria-ocasio-cortezs-green-new-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"The political fraud of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez\u2019s \u201cGreen New Deal\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"content\">\n<h3 class=\"nomargin\">\u00a0<\/h3>\n<h2>The political fraud of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez\u2019s \u201cGreen New Deal\u201d<\/h2>\n<h5>\n<p>    By<br \/>\n    Will Morrow<br \/>\n    <br \/>23 November 2018<\/p>\n<\/h5>\n<p>Last week, newly-elected Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez released a proposal for an addendum to the rules of the US House of Representatives, to create a new congressional committee that would draft legislation for a \u201cGreen New Deal.\u201d Nine Democrats have already put their names to the proposal, including Rashida Tlaib, who like Ocasio-Cortez is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.<\/p>\n<p>The document includes the call for a transition to 100 percent renewable energy within 10 years, and actions to \u201cvirtually eliminate poverty in the United States and to make prosperity, wealth and economic security available to everyone.\u201d It calls for \u201ca job guarantee program to assure a living wage to every person who wants one\u201d; \u201cmassive investment in the drawdown of greenhouse gases,\u201d and \u201cupgrading every residential and industrial building for state-of-the-art energy efficiency, comfort and safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The document, as with Ocasio-Cortez\u2019s politics, is characterized by a massive political fraud. It includes various left-sounding rhetoric, but is entirely directed to and dependent upon the Democratic Party.
