Grynbaum (@grynbaum) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/grynbaum\/status\/1055557017220321282?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 25, 2018<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>* * *<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> It appears Megyn Kelly will not be returning to \u201cToday\u201d \u2013 not tomorrow, not ever.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s according to a story in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-6316973\/Megyn-Kelly-NBC-just-48-hours-blackface-scandal-paid-69-million.html\">the Daily Mail,<\/a> which confirmed on Thursday afternoon that the former Fox News star has agreed to leave the network after she defended the use of black face in Halloween costumes during a panel discussion on Tuesday, triggering an intense backlash that reverberated across twitter.<\/p>\n<p>But while the damage to Kelly\u2019s reputation and career from her brief but disastrous stint at NBC may be irreparable, at least she will walk away with the entirety of her $69 million contract, thanks to the \u201cno-break\u201d deal she reportedly signed when she announced she would be joining the network in January 2017, after declining to renew her contract at Fox News. The timing of her departure announcement is still TBD, but the deal is as good as done, one executive said.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u2018Megyn Kelly is done. She is not ever coming back,\u2019 <\/strong>said an NBC executive with knowledge of the situation.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We are just working out timing of the announcement but mark my work \u2013 she is gone and will never be seen on NBC live again.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The source then added: \u2018Here\u2019s the worst part \u2013 her deal is a non-break deal \u2013 so she walks away with all that money.
