A Democratic candidate for the West Virginia House of Delegates was an active leader in pagan witchcraft, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lissa Lucas rose through the ranks of a Wiccan cult to its third level \u2014\u00a0the highest stage for most Wiccan cults<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 and\u00a0instructed lower-level Wiccans in occult practices, TheDCNF\u2019s investigation found.<\/p>\n

Lucas\u2019s campaign has raised more than five times as much money as her Republican opponent, thanks in part to national media attention that has left out Lucas\u2019s witchcraft.<\/p>\n

She authored two books on casting pagan spells, writing under the name\u00a0Llysse Smith Wylle.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0author biography for Lucas\u2019s 2007 book,\u00a0\u201cThe Art of Magic Words<\/a>,\u201d a how-to guide for casting spells, touted her experience in witchcraft.<\/p>\n

\u201cLlysse Smith Wylle has been Pagan for many years and Wiccan for seven,\u201d the description reads. \u201cShe is a member of the Third Circle of the Tradition of Universal Eclectic Wicca; she also teaches and coordinates its First Circle degree via the Coven of the Far Flung Net.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFor a number of years, she has studied Chaos and other magical techniques privately, as well as with a small esoteric study society called the Order of the Golden Breath,\u201d the description continues.<\/p>\n
