It cannot be right that the rich can buy silence,\u201d<\/em> she stated.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wPxvQNt1scM\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The MP, who chairs the Women\u2019s Parliamentary Labour Party, spoke after the Daily Telegraph was barred from publishing <em>\u201cconfidential information\u201d<\/em> on a senior executive accused of sexual harassment and racial abuse of staff.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of publishing the accusations, the Telegraph contacted the executive for comment, he along with other senior staff members subsequently applied for an injunction to stop the details being published.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rt.com\/view\/5bd07838dda4c809198b462b\"><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0MPs too? Harassment of female lawmakers widespread in European parliaments, report claims<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The allegations would have been<em> \u201csure to reignite the #MeToo movement against the mistreatment of women, minorities and others by powerful employers,\u201d<\/em> stated the Telegraph.<\/p>\n<p>In August, High Court judge Justice Haddon-Cave refused to gag the paper. But in the Court of Appeal the injunction was upheld. Judges Sir Terence Etherton, Lord Justice Underhill and Lord Justice Henderson stated that the five employees allegations had been <em>\u201ccompromised by settlement agreements\u201d<\/em> from which \u201csubstantial payments\u201d were made to them.<\/p>\n<p>The agreements meant that both sides had made promises to keep the complaints confidential.
