{"id":381531,"date":"2018-10-18T20:32:30","date_gmt":"2018-10-18T19:32:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/white-woman-calls-cops-on-black-man-cheering-sons-soccer-game-goes-viral-as-golfcart-gail-rt-us-news-2\/"},"modified":"2018-10-18T20:32:30","modified_gmt":"2018-10-18T19:32:30","slug":"white-woman-calls-cops-on-black-man-cheering-sons-soccer-game-goes-viral-as-golfcart-gail-rt-us-news-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/white-woman-calls-cops-on-black-man-cheering-sons-soccer-game-goes-viral-as-golfcart-gail-rt-us-news-2\/","title":{"rendered":"White woman calls cops on black man cheering son\u2019s soccer game, goes viral as \u2018Golfcart Gail\u2019 \u2014 RT US News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdni.rt.com\/files\/2018.10\/thumbnail\/5bc8d5b6dda4c8384a8b4624.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>        A Florida woman has faced ridicule online after she was recorded calling the police on a black man while he shouted and cheered from the sidelines during his teenage son\u2019s soccer game.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The woman, who was dubbed \u2018Golfcart Gail\u2019 in a now viral Facebook post (but whose name, we\u2019re guessing, is probably not Gail), is seen sitting behind the wheel in a golf cart, calling the police on the father and accusing him of harassing the referee.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ginger Williams, who wrote the viral post, the man had simply been shouting at his son and telling him to obey the referee\u2019s orders. <em>\u201cThis man was simply trying to watch his son&#8217;s soccer game and cheer for him from the sides,\u201d<\/em> Williams wrote.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Famy.l.williams.777%2Fposts%2F10215213353340959&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"764\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowtransparency=\"true\" allow=\"encrypted-media\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>But that was all a bit too much for Golfcart Gail, who Williams wrote decided to <em>\u201cspring into action\u201d<\/em> and approach the man to remind him that his so-called harassment would not be tolerated. Probably a bit confused, the man told the woman that he was simply speaking to his own son.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cFor whatever reason, Golfcart Gail just would not let this go. She continued to harass and beleaguer this parent,\u201d<\/em> Williams explained.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, the man even offered to leave to avoid creating a bigger situation, but at that point, as he packed up his things, the woman in the golfcart decided to call the police over his <em>\u201cthreatening\u201d<\/em> behavior.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-cards=\"hidden\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;A white woman called the cops on a Black father at his child\u2019s soccer game \u2014 claiming he yelled at the referee, when he was actually just cheering on his son&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>These people need to face consequences for frivolously calling the police.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/MvGXqAaucq\">https:\/\/t.co\/MvGXqAaucq<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Britni Danielle (@BritniDWrites) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BritniDWrites\/status\/1052606521639546880?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 17, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>It later turned out that the woman was a<em> &#8220;field marshal&#8221;<\/em> at the park, but a spokesman for the St. Johns County Sheriff&#8217;s office did not confirm to NBC News whether or not she had been disciplined for her outburst.<\/p>\n<p>Another woman at the scene also filmed what was going on and told NBC she felt there was <em>\u201cno reason\u201d<\/em> to get the police involved and said she started to film when the woman in the golfcart<em> \u201cwould not leave the father alone\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The disturbance even caused the game to be delayed at one point. <em>\u201cShame on you Golfcart Gail for what you did to this man and to the children who had to see this,\u201d<\/em> Williams wrote in her Facebook post.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-cards=\"hidden\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We need to stop giving them cute names because now they are doing it for the attention. In May, a white student called the police on a black student while she was taking a nap in the common room of her dorm.
