It\u2019s bad enough reruns of Seinfeld<\/em> and Friends<\/em> have fallen on the wrong side of a safe space. <\/strong><\/p>\n

They don\u2019t know that we know that they know they\u2019re snowflakes. At least in the eyes of SJWs, who Netflix and Whine. Now it looks like these same leftist crybabies\u00a0have killed a potential The Office<\/em> reboot before it got developed. According to Steve Carrell, the audience gets too triggered too easily these days<\/a>. Something Jim Halpert doesn\u2019t seem to have a problem with (see\u00a0\u201913 Hours\u2019 Star Blasts \u2018Anti-Military\u2019 Critics for Politicizing the Film\u2026<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Vanity Fair Attacks \u2018Jack Ryan\u2019 for Being Masculine and Pro-American<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Michael Scott, on the other hand, has gone soft:<\/p>\n

But apart from the fact that I just don\u2019t think that\u2019s a good idea, it might be impossible to do that show today and have people accept it the way it was accepted 10 years ago. The climate\u2019s different. I mean, the whole idea of that character, Michael Scott, so much of it was predicated on inappropriate behavior. I mean, he\u2019s certainly not a model boss. A lot of what is depicted on that show is completely wrong-minded. That\u2019s the point, you know?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Yes. The point of being funny. But to paraphrase Cartman from South Park<\/em> last night<\/a>, \u201cLet\u2019s see how that works out for you in 2018.\u201d<\/p>\n

But I just don\u2019t know how that would fly now. There\u2019s a very high awareness of offensive things today\u2014which is good, for sure. But at the same time, when you take a character like that too literally, it doesn\u2019t really work.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s all for the better if we\u2019re being honest. Let\u2019s leave shows the way they ended and stop resurrecting them as the Scoobie Gang did to poor Buffy. And no, that\u2019s not a request for a Buffy<\/em>\u00a0reboot. Please. Stop. No more reboots. I just don\u2019t\u2019 want to see Buffy in a minivan.<\/p>\n
