The concert in Chemnitz, held under the motto \u201cWe are more\u201d, showed the massive opposition to right-wing extremism and fascism on the part of workers and youth.<\/p>\n<p>The performances by well-known German bands and rappers\u2013including the Toten Hosen, Kraftklub and Marteria and Casper\u2014were repeatedly interrupted by chants from the crowd of anti-fascist slogans such as \u201cNazis out\u201d or \u201cAlerta Alerta Antifascista\u201d. Protests against the far right also took place in other cities on the same day. In Hanover around 3,000 people took to the streets and in Duisburg a protest by 1,500 stopped a march by 50 supporters of the extreme right Pegida movement.<\/p>\n<div class=\"imageFull\" style=\"width:480px; oveflow:hidden;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wsws.org\/asset\/9606d15c-845c-4ba9-9b88-0a1aa5631ffI\/image.jpg?rendition=image480\" srcset=\"\/asset\/9606d15c-845c-4ba9-9b88-0a1aa5631ffI\/image.jpg?rendition=image960 2x\" width=\"480\" style=\"width:480px;\" \/><span>The concert in Chemnitz<\/span><\/div>\n<p>Reporters from the <em>World Socialist Web Site<\/em>, members of the Socialist Equality Party (SGP) and its youth and student organization, the IYSSE, distributed large numbers of a leaflet titled \u201cThe fight against right-wing terror requires a socialist perspective\u201d and spoke with participants at the concert.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe come from Chemnitz and are not prepared to tolerate what happened here,\u201d Felix and Jenny said. \u201cSuch a protest shows that something is really wrong in society and makes people aware, even those who are not directly involved. I hope that people then become active, not just at such \u2018events\u2019, but in general.
