{"id":363229,"date":"2018-05-29T12:48:56","date_gmt":"2018-05-29T11:48:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/presstv-child-refugees-going-missing-in-britain\/"},"modified":"2018-05-29T12:48:56","modified_gmt":"2018-05-29T11:48:56","slug":"presstv-child-refugees-going-missing-in-britain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/presstv-child-refugees-going-missing-in-britain\/","title":{"rendered":"PressTV-Child refugees going missing in Britain"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>More than 120 child refugees trafficked to the UK from northern parts of France have gone missing, a new report has revealed, raising concerns about the British government\u2019s lack of action.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s a 22-percent increase in missing cases since last July, when the number stood at 104, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) stated in its latest report on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The report revealed that traffickers have drugged and sexually abused children as young as 11 after promising to take them into the UK.<\/p>\n<p>The children are among hundreds of displaced people\u00a0who\u00a0continue to live without adequate emergency shelter or proper access to drinking water near the border in Calais and Dunkirk, in situations that the\u00a0UN recently described as an \u201cinhumane.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The NSPCC\u2019s Child Trafficking Advice Centre (CTAC) has been working with the Refugee Youth Service (RYS),\u00a0a Calais-based charity,\u00a0to locate the missing children.
