Speaking before the right-wing think tank American Enterprise Institute Tuesday, Pompeo warned that Pyongyang was a \u201chandful of months\u201d away from achieving the capability of staging a nuclear attack against the US mainland.<\/p>\n<p>The CIA director said that Washington was \u201cgoing to foreclose that risk\u201d and \u201cdenuclearize permanently\u201d North Korea.<\/p>\n<p>While asserting that the Trump administration was committed to a \u201csolution through diplomatic means\u201d\u2014a claim belied by Trump\u2019s chiding of his Secretary of State Rex Tillerson last October for \u201cwasting his time\u201d by seeking negotiations with the government of Kim Jung Un\u2014Pompeo said that the CIA was working with the Pentagon to \u201cprepare a series of options to make sure that we can deliver a range of things so the president will have the full suite of possibilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that he would \u201cleave to others to address the&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsws.org\/en\/articles\/2018\/01\/26\/kore-j26.html\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 Will there be a US nuclear sneak attack on North Korea?
