S\u00e9rgio Etchegoyen.<\/p>\n<p>The US Embassy refused to \u201cconfirm or deny\u201d whether Norman headed the US intelligence agency\u2019s operations in Latin America\u2019s largest country.<\/p>\n<p><em>Folha de Sao Paulo<\/em> quoted the GSI\u2014which oversees the Brazilian spy agency, the ABIN\u2014as saying the public daily schedule, which is regulated by the Free Information Act of 2012, \u201cis an active instrument of transparency\u201d and \u201cthe names and positions of all attendees are to be registered in accordance to the principles of transparency, without exception.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That such a formal regulation would compel the secretive Brazilian security agency to blow the cover of the CIA\u2019s top man in the country strains credulity.
