Prior to the U.S. election, Hillary Clinton\u2019s campaign, and the Obama White House, were saying that Russia\u2019s President Vladimir Putin was aiming to make Americans distrust the results of the November election. Of course, at that time, Clinton was considered almost certain to win. Here was a typical piece of their campaign-propaganda at that time \u2014 the time when the expectation was that if there would be any challenge to the election-results, it would be coming from Trump, not from Clinton:<\/span><\/p>\n

However, after Clinton turned out to be the loser in the election\u2019s initial results, the face on that magazine-cover ought to be Jill Stein’s, instead of Vladimir Putin’s, because Stein is actually the person who turns out to be the prime mover in the attempt to discredit the initial outcome of November’s election.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Clinton campaign is now joining Jill Stein\u2019s effort to switch the results in three states \u2014 Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania \u2014 that barely went tor Trump in the vote-count (Stein is ignoring to have vote-recounts in the states that Hillary had barely won: New Hampshire, Minnesota, and Nevada; so, this is hardly a non-partisan operation).<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, an article by Steve Rosenfeld at the anti-Russian website alternet headlined on November 26th,\u00a0“Green Recount Effort Poised to Explore Whether Russia Hacked the Vote for Trump:<\/span><\/a>\u00a0The stakes and lines of inquiry became clearer as the Clinton campaign joined the effort.\u201d This fascinating report from a different anti-Russian propaganda site, indicates that “the first recount petition filed by the Greens, in Wisconsin, primarily focused on Russian\u00a0hacking, not on the more easily understood line of inquiry of different voting technologies\u00a0reporting different margins of victory for Trump despite their locations.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Rosenfeld supported that line of attack against a Trump win, citing as evidence for it\u00a0an article at the anti-Russian website Medium<\/span><\/a>, by an anti-Russian computer scientist at the University of Michigan, who argued that Russia possessed both the capacity and the will to throw the election to Trump. That professor cited as his sources other anti-Russian entities, such as the Obama Administration, and the rabidly anti-Russian Ukrainian regime that Obama had installed in a bloody coup (fronted by \u2018democracy protesters\u2019<\/span><\/a>) in Kiev during February 2014<\/span><\/a> (and which even a CIA-friendly American intelligence-expert called\u00a0\u201cthe most blatant coup in history\u201d<\/span><\/a>). The Michigan anti-Russian professor said:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFederal agencies\u00a0<\/i>publicly<\/i><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/i>asserted<\/i><\/span><\/a>\u00a0that senior officials in the Russian government commissioned these\u00a0<\/i>attacks<\/i><\/span><\/a>. Russia has sophisticated cyber-offensive capabilities, and has shown a willingness to use them to hack elections. In 2014, during the presidential\u00a0<\/i>election in Ukraine<\/i><\/span><\/a>, attackers linked to Russia sabotaged the country\u2019s vote-counting infrastructure and, according to published reports, Ukrainian officials succeeded only at the last minute in defusing vote-stealing malware that was primed to cause the wrong winner to be announced.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

(Where that anti-Russian professor linked \u201celection in Ukraine,\u201d the source linked-to was the anti-Russian Christian Science Monitor, headlining in June 2014, “Ukraine election\u00a0narrowly avoided\u00a0‘wanton destruction’\u00a0from hackers (+video): A brazen three-pronged cyber-attack against\u00a0last month’s Ukrainian presidential elections\u00a0has set the world on notice \u2013 and bears\u00a0Russian fingerprints, some say.\u201d The \u201cRussian fingerprints\u201d that were actually identified in that article, however, were not at all the Russian government, but “pro-Russia hackers, [who] infiltrated Ukraine\u2019s\u00a0central election computers and deleted key\u00a0files, rendering the vote-tallying system\u00a0inoperable,\u201d and who promptly posted online “spilling e-mails and other documents onto the\u00a0web,\u201d which hardly seems like the sort of surreptitious election-manipulation operation that the professor, and Clinton, and Stein, are allegedly trying to document to have occurred in the Trump-Clinton electoral contest.)<\/span><\/p>\n

So, all of that professor’s sources were anti-Russian and accepted U.S.-government propaganda without question \u2014 and furthermore cited sources as being evidence for hypotheses that they didn\u2019t actually<\/i> support.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rosenfeld\u2019s article noted that that professor\u2019s article had prompted “the Clinton campaign\u2019s top lawyer, Marc\u00a0Elias\u201d to seek a recount in the three states that in the initial counts had barely tipped to Trump: Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. And, coincidentally Jill Stein had already been seeking funding to do precisely that; so, the Clinton campaign was now conveniently jumping aboard her bus (if it wasn\u2019t actually Clinton\u2019s bus from the very start \u2014 and funded by Clinton\u2019s billionaires).<\/span><\/p>\n

Both\u00a0CNN<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and the \u2018alternative news\u2019 site\u00a0alternet<\/span><\/a>, and other \u2019news\u2019 sites, quoted the Clinton campaign\u2019s lawyer, Elias, who wrote\u00a0at Medium<\/span><\/a>, that, “just yesterday, the Washington Post reported that the Russian government was behind much of the ‘fake news’ propaganda that\u00a0circulated online in the closing weeks of the election.\u201d (Was he referring to the fake news at sites, and print-publications, such as TIME<\/i>? No.) On November 27th, I headlined\u00a0“The Lying Washington Post Gets Exposed, And All Major\u00a0U.S. \u2018News\u2019 Media Refuse To Report It\u201d<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0and documented, both from my own research and from the research by two reporters at The Intercept, that the Washington Post<\/i> \u2018news\u2019 story cited there by the Clinton lawyer was itself fake \u2018news\u2019, an outright lie. Instead of America\u2019s \u2018news\u2019 media publicizing the exposing of the hoax by the Washington Post<\/i>, which had been based upon a hoax started by unnamed persons, America\u2019s \u2019news\u2019 media, and the Clinton campaign\u2019s lawyer, were still citing<\/i> that hoax, by \u2018PropOrNot\u2019 and spread virally now by the WP<\/i> and other U.S.-government fronts, or \u2018news\u2019 media, as being their authority.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On November 28th, TIME<\/i> headlined \u201cWhat You Need to Know About the Wisconsin Recount\u201d<\/span><\/a>, and a sub-headed section there was:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is Clinton\u2019s role?<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Peripheral. The effort is being led by Stein, who is filing petitions and raising the money necessary to secure the recount in each state. Though Clinton officials have weighed in on some of Trump\u2019s responses, insight into the Clinton camp\u2019s thoughts on the recount was provided by Elias via <\/i>Medium<\/i><\/span><\/a>.”<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Subscriptions to the mainstream \u2018news\u2019media have been soaring ever since these medias\u2019 predictions regarding who would almost certainly win the Trump-Clinton electoral contest became disconfirmed by subsequent events. This is like what had happened after those media had told us in 2002 and 2003 that Saddam Hussain must be overthrown because of his weapons of mass destruction<\/span><\/a>. At such times as this, most people seek the assurance of obtaining their information only from \u2018the top quality news sources\u2019<\/span><\/a>. And, of course, all of those \u2018news\u2019 sources validate all of the other ones; so, those are the ones which benefit the most<\/span><\/a> from the public\u2019s confusions and uncertainties. This is the way \u2018democracy\u2019<\/span><\/a> functions. It\u2019s built on trust. (Trust in \u2018authority\u2019, of course.)<\/span><\/p>\n
