Though that is <a href=\"https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/2012\/12\/21\/the-rights-second-amendment-lies\/\"><u><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">bad history<\/span><\/u><\/a> \u2013 since the Framers of the Constitution set as their goal \u201cdomestic Tranquility\u201d and defined \u201clevying war against\u201d the United States as treason \u2013 this false notion that the Framers wanted a violent populace resisting the government has become an article of faith in Trump\u2019s world of political paranoia.<\/p>\n<p>So, when Trump spoke off-the-cuff at a North Carolina rally on Tuesday, it seemed to me that he was referencing the fanciful idea of gun-control opponents waging war on the federal government rather than calling for the assassination of\u00a0Hillary Clinton. Nevertheless, Trump\u2019s short-hand comment was dangerous regardless of which form of violent action he meant.
