A US policeman is in trouble after he allegedly tasered a ten-year-old schoolboy for refusing to clean his patrol car.<\/p>\n
Officer Chris Webb reportedly fired the 50,000-volt weapon at the boy during a career day at Tularosa Intermediate School in New Mexico.<\/p>\n
The boy, named only as RD, blacked out and has since suffered post-traumatic stress disorder. He is now taking legal action.<\/p>\n
His legal representative, Rachel Higgins, told Santa Fe County Court that the officer’s use of force was completely unreasonable.<\/p>\n
According to the complaint: “Defendant Webb asked the boy, RD, in a group of boys, who would like to clean his patrol unit.<\/p>\n
“A number of boys said that they would. RD, joking, said that he did not want to clean the patrol unit.”<\/p>\n
Webb is accused of responding by aiming his Taser at the child before saying: “Let me show you what happens to people who do not listen to the police.”<\/p>\n
He then allegedly stunned RD before pulling out the barbs and taking the boy to the school principal’s office.<\/p>\n
The boy’s family are suing both Webb and the New Mexico Department of Public Safety. The case continues.<\/p>\n
