The head of the private\u00a0intelligence agency Stratfor has\u00a0for the\u00a0first time publicly said that the US\u00a0government considers to be\u00a0its\u00a0overriding strategic objective the\u00a0prevention of a German-Russian\u00a0alliance.\u00a0Blocking that alliance is the only\u00a0way to prevent\u00a0an alternative\u00a0world power capable of challenging extension of the American position of being\u00a0the world\u2019s lone superpower. [In this video, he says that the U.S. will fail in that overriding objective; German technology and capital will combine with Russian natural resources and \u201cland-power,\u201d to produce a truly bipolar world: U.S. v. Eurasia. So: he sees the U.S. strategy as being to block that, by weakening both Germany and Russia. That strategy would explain what Obama is doing in Ukraine, and the sanctions that are hurting both Russia and Germany, but Friedman thinks that nothing can work.]<\/span><\/p>\n

The American political scientist George\u00a0Friedman is chief of intelligence think tank\u00a0“Stratfor Global Intelligence”, which he\u00a0founded in 1996.\u00a0The headquarters of Stratfor\u00a0is located in Texas.\u00a0Stratfor advises 4,000\u00a0companies, individuals and governments\u00a0around the world, reports the New York Times.\u00a0These include Bank of America, the US State\u00a0Department, Apple, Microsoft and Lockheed\u00a0Martin, Monsanto and Cisco, on security issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

In December 2011 there was a hacker attack on\u00a0the computer system of Stratfor.Then 90,000\u00a0names, addresses, credit card numbers,\u00a0passwords Stratfor clients were published.\u00a0The\u00a0attack was by the hacker Jeremy\u00a0Hammond.\u00a0But later it\u00a0turned out that an FBI employee Hammond\u00a0had instigated the attack on the Stratfor\u00a0system.\u00a0The FBI was involved in all\u00a0phases of the attack.<\/span><\/p>\n

Friedman published in 2009 a book\u00a0titled “The Next 100 Years”, in which he\u00a0discussed\u00a0security policy issues for the 21st\u00a0century.\u00a0He said that between 2020 and 2030, Turkey,\u00a0Poland and Japan, with US support, will be regional\u00a0powers.\u00a0In the same period, a pro-American\u00a0block of several States will be formed in\u00a0Eastern Europe.\u00a0[The latter has already happened. Furthermore, on page 66, he said: \u201cEurope may yet have to deal with the resurgence of Russia, the bullying of the United States, or internal tensions.\u201d All three of those things have also already happened.]<\/span><\/p>\n
