On Thursday, a coalition of press freedom groups<a style=\"color: #c61a1a;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mcclatchydc.com\/2014\/08\/14\/236547\/press-freedom-groups-file-petition.html\">submitted<\/a>\u00a0100,000 signatures calling on DOJ to halt its pursuit of Risen\u2019s testimony. In an interview with Maureen Dowd after a press conference on press freedom on Thursday, Risen\u00a0<a style=\"color: #c61a1a;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2014\/08\/17\/opinion\/sunday\/maureen-dowd-wheres-the-justice-at-justice.html\">called<\/a>\u00a0President Obama, \u201cthe greatest enemy to press freedom in a generation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #58585b;\">Meanwhile, even as Risen waits to find out whether the Department of Justice will send him\u00a0to jail to attempt to\u00a0force\u00a0him to testify about his source,\u00a0Sterling also waits, as he has since January 2011, when he was first arrested.
