The new round of indictments in US Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation show “incontrovertible” evidence that Russia interfered in the US 2016 presidential election, the White House national security adviser has said.
H.R. McMaster made the remarks while speaking at the 54th Munich Security Conference in Munich, Germany on Saturday, a day after President Donald Trump denied that his campaign colluded with Russia.
Trump’s denial came hours after thirteen Russians and three Russian companies were charged with conspiracy to interfere with the 2016 US presidential election.
On Friday, Mueller, who is investigating the alleged Russian meddling, indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian entities accused of interfering in elections in the United States.
McMaster said “with the FBI indictment, the evidence is now incontrovertible” that Russia meddled in the election.
