US Vice President Mike Pence has called a explosive book written about the administration of President Donald Trump, which has raised questions about the White House for the past week, a “work of Washington fiction.”
“I haven’t read it, don’t intend to read it,” Pence told conservative commentator Dana Loesch in an interview on Monday. “What I’ve heard about in the book bears no resemblance to the president that I serve with every day. No one. It just strikes me that it’s another work of Washington fiction.”
Michael Wolff’s book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” went on sale on Friday. The book painted a chaotic and dysfunctional picture of Trump’s election campaign and early months of his presidency. It released last week has caused a storm of controversy and has left Trump facing questions about his mental stability, with quotes from former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon.
