The grandson of Winston Churchill slams US President Donald Trump over skipping a cemetery visit about 50 miles from where he is staying in France due to bad weather.
Nicholas Soames, a British politician, called the president “pathetic” in a tweet on Saturday.
“They died with their face to the foe and that pathetic inadequate @realDonaldTrump couldn’t even defy the weather to pay his respects to The Fallen,” said Soames, who is a member of British Parliament for Mid Sussex.
His tweet included a hashtag, saying Trump is “not fit to represent his great country.”
Trump and many members of his administration are in France for events commemorating 100 years since the end of World War I, the so-called Armistice Day on November 11.
