Muckraking Journalism in the Public Interest . . . (Continued)

Dear FAIR Supporter,

It’s been a tough year of beating back supposed “news” that distracts from the concrete concerns in our lives. FAIR breaks it down in our newsletter Extra!, in our website posts, and on our national weekly radio show CounterSpin.

We know the media debate continues to need our voice and your activism. These stories explain why what we do has to be done:

Morning Edition’s Think Tank Sources Lean to the Right
• Out of 26 Major Editorials on Trump’s Syria Strikes, Zero Opposed
• West Virginia Strike Highlights Corporate Media’s Atrophied Labor Coverage
• Media Consensus: Dreamers Weren’t Worth a Shutdown
• Blaming ‘Both Sides’ for Hate Plays Into Hands of Right-Wing Media

We need your support of FAIR’s work
challenging the corporate media.

While FAIR has kept fundraising at bay with only occasional pleas for financial help this year, our year-end drive is for a much-needed goal of $50,000. This is the most important fundraising we do all year–the one that makes or breaks FAIR’s ability to keep doing the research and analysis our media activists expect from us.

In appreciation of your support, FAIR is offering a fabulous thank-you gift: a T-shirt commemorating the 25th anniversary of Nirvana’s concert for FAIR. Nirvana headlined one of two benefit concerts for FAIR at the LA Forum in December 1993; the concert turned out to be Nirvana’s final Los Angeles show. Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain called FAIR “an underground leftist organization that tries to expose the truths,” saying we had “been working for years to expose a lot of injustices.”

We have reissued the iconic concert T-shirts from these benefits. The terrific “DISinformation” art by Robbie Conal is on the front, and the two concert rosters are listed on the back.

After 32 years, our readers, listeners and activists know the reality of keeping a small progressive nonprofit going. We depend on FAIR’s network of media activists to stand up to help assure a future of a free and independent press.

Please Donate Today!

Each and every donation is appreciated.

Sincerely,
Deborah, Janine & Jim

P.S. T-shirt is 100% cotton. Printed front and back.
