Three people have been killed and at least five others have been shot in Baltimore, Maryland during what seems to be a fatal weekend for the city amid its rising violent crime rate.
On Sunday morning, just before 5 am, a man was found dead by police officers who believe he had been shot multiple times in the Arlington neighborhood.
According to investigators, the victim was in a parking lot when he was shot by a shooter multiple times before the suspect fled the scene.
Almost two hours later, officers found a woman’s body who appeared to have been killed in a house which was set on fire in the Westfield neighborhood of Northeast Baltimore.
Also, a 21-year-old man was fatally shot in Westport about 5 pm on Sunday. Police said they had arrived at the scene to see a man with gunshot wound to his back.
He was taken to a hospital, but was later pronounced dead, officials added.
Police also said that two men and two boys, aged 8 and 10, were shot overnight with another juvenile, who was shot Sunday in Cherry Hill.
