The White House is “extremely disappointed that the Russian government would take this step” despite US’s official and private requests to expel him, White House spokesperson Jay Carney said.
Carney stressed the US did not view Edward Snowden, who was
granted a temporary asylum in Russia on Thursday, as a
whistleblower saying the NSA former contractor has been charged
with a crime in his home country.
