A military base, used by American forces in Afghanistan’s southern province of Kandahar, has come under rocket attack, Press TV reports.
Unknown attackers on Tuesday fired eight to 10 rockets on the airport in Kandahar from multiple directions.
There have been no reports of casualties or damage and no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Kandahar Airfield is the biggest US military base in southern Afghanistan.
On Monday, an Afghan soldier killed a British service member in the southern Helmand province in the first green-on-blue attack of 2013.
The United States invaded Afghanistan in 2001 under the pretext of combating terrorism. The invasion removed the Taliban from power, but insecurity continues to rise across the country, despite the presence of thousands of US-led troopers there.
