At least two people shot at California high school – reports

At least two people have been shot at a high school in Taft, California. The shooter has been taken into custody according to ABC 7.

Some reports say that two people have been reported dead.

The shooting occurred around 9am local time. Students were evacuated to the football field. 

Students hid in closets and phoned local media, according to ABC 23.

Officials from the Kern County Sheriff’s Department went room-by-room to secure the school.

The Sheriff’s office has confirmed that at least two people have been wounded.

According to reports, the first person shot was airlifted to the hospital. The second person denied medical treatment.
