Young adults in the US, especially minorities, are angry with President Barack Obama�™s �œlies” and �œsavage” economic policies, a researcher and social activist in Washington says.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

According to a new USA Today\/Pew Research Center Poll, Obama�™s job approval among young voters has fallen to 45 percent.<\/p>\n

The president’s approval rating with young Americans, which stood at 67% just ahead of his second inauguration less than a year ago, now mirrors the general population, according to the poll.<\/p>\n

�œPresident Obama�™s economic and public policies and planning has been savage towards young people, in particular for African Americans and Latino Americans,” said Randy Short, a member of the Black Autonomy Network Community Organization, a political and social justice coalition working in Benton Harbor, Michigan.<\/p>\n

�œUnemployment is very high, we have a large number of young people with college degrees working in fast-food, working in Wal-Mart” and other low wage jobs, Short told Press TV on Sunday.<\/p>\n

�œThe President lied to young people about student loans. A lot of us former student, myself included, owe huge amounts of money in loans and the jobs haven�™t been here, there�™s been no support,” he added.<\/p>\n

Short said the economic policies of Obama and his predecessors contributed to the offshoring of millions of good paying US jobs to China and India. �œRight now, this is a lost generation with very few prospects.”<\/p>\n
