{"id":79760,"date":"2013-10-17T21:19:28","date_gmt":"2013-10-17T20:19:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/breaking-news\/internal-tsa-documents-body-scanners-pat-downs-not-for-terrorists\/79760\/"},"modified":"2013-10-17T21:26:16","modified_gmt":"2013-10-17T20:26:16","slug":"internal-tsa-documents-body-scanners-pat-downs-not-for-terrorists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/latest-news\/internal-tsa-documents-body-scanners-pat-downs-not-for-terrorists\/","title":{"rendered":"Internal TSA Documents: Body Scanners, Pat Downs Not For Terrorists"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"ftpimagefix\" style=\"float: none;\">TSA&#8217;s \u2018Administrative Record&#8217; admits ineffective security theater<\/div>\n<p><strong>Adan Salazar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The TSA has quietly admitted there is no actual \u201cthreat-addressing\u201d basis for employing nude body scanners or invasive pat down procedures at airports, a notion many travelers who are weary of the federal agency&#8217;s borderline sexual molestation have long suspected but were hard-pressed to prove.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The TSA understands body scanners and pat downs are ineffective at addressing a threat for which they admit \u201cthere is no evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The evidence was found in sealed court documents, available through the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pacer.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">PACER.gov<\/a> website, regarding engineer and blogger Jon Corbett&#8217;s ongoing litigation over the constitutionality of the agency&#8217;s loathsome security practices.<\/p>\n<p>In a redacted version of the appellant&#8217;s brief, filed by Corbett on October 7 with the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, several portions of the <i>Summary of Facts <\/i>section were blacked out, raising questions as to the nature of the censored information.<\/p>\n<p>But in a sealed version of the same documents obtained through PACER.gov (and <a href=\"http:\/\/static.infowars.com\/2013\/07\/i\/general\/corbettfiles2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">available here<\/a>), the redacted sections appear with incriminating clarity.<\/p>\n<p><b>Through Redactions, TSA Admits Terror Threats are Slim to Nonexistent<\/b><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Redaction shows TSA is aware explosives on airplanes \u201care extremely rare.&#8217; (click to enlarge)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>A section detailing how \u201cThe TSA Has Misled The Public As to the Likelihood of the Threat \u2018Addressed&#8217; By Nude Body Scanners and Pat Downs,\u201d includes a blacked out portion concerning the TSA&#8217;s knowledge that \u201cexplosives on airplanes are extremely rare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor example, the TSA analyzed hijackings in 2007 and found 7 hijacking incidents across the globe, but none of them involved actual explosive devices,\u201d Corbett explains in the brief, adding that the last attempt to bring an explosive onboard an airplane through a U.S. airport occurred 35 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Another redacted section highlights the government&#8217;s concession that, \u201cdue to hardened cockpit doors and the willingness of passengers to challenge hijackers,\u201d it would be difficult to have a repeat of 9\/11.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government also credits updated pre-flight security for that difficulty assessment,\u201d the brief states, \u201cbut the assessment was written before the <i>en masse <\/i>deployment of body scanners and before the update to the pat down procedure. Further, the government admits that there have been no attempted domestic hijackings of any kind in the 12 years since 9\/11.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The TSA also had the following section completely censored:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This begs the question, then, of what evidence the government possesses to rationalize that we should be so afraid of non-metallic explosives being brought aboard flights departing from the U.S. that we must sacrifice our civil liberties. The answer: there is none. \u201cAs of mid-2011, terrorist threat groups present in the Homeland are not known to be actively plotting against civil aviation targets or airports; instead, their focus is on fundraising, recruiting, and propagandizing.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/static.infowars.com\/bindnfocom\/2013\/10\/summaryofargument.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"slb\">In the brief&#8217;s <i>Summary of Argument<\/i><\/a><i>, <\/i>another redacted portion concerns the TSA&#8217;s understanding that body scanners and pat downs are ineffective at addressing a threat for which they admit \u201cthere is no evidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>By redacting certain parts of the brief, the TSA also inadvertently admits \u201cit is aware of <i>no one<\/i> who is currently plotting a terror attack against our aviation system using explosives (non-metallic or otherwise),\u201d and that, in addition to a cabin of empowered passengers who would make short work of a hijacker, the Federal Flight Deck Officer program, which arms pilots with firearms, makes targeting an airplane \u201cto be the definition of insanity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>Get the TSA Out of Our Pants<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/static.infowars.com\/bindnfocom\/2013\/10\/catascope.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"slb\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"catascope\" src=\"http:\/\/static.infowars.com\/bindnfocom\/2013\/10\/catascope.jpg\" width=\"230\" height=\"221\" \/><\/a>The redactions in Corbett&#8217;s court documents are a damning indictment of the TSA&#8217;s procedures, and only serve to bolster his claims&#8217; truthfulness.<\/p>\n<p>The 28-year-old entrepreneur arrived at his conclusions after admittedly \u201cpawing through several thousand pages of the TSA&#8217;s \u2018administrative record,&#8217;\u201d which he says the TSA uses as the \u201calleged rationale behind why they must photograph us naked and literally put their hands in our pants to search us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The information contained within the redacted portions support what Infowars and others have long suspected: that the sprawling agency \u2014 which is in the process of extending beyond the airport and onto <a href=\"http:\/\/www.infowars.com\/the-tsa-is-coming-to-a-highway-near-you\/\" target=\"_blank\">highways<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.infowars.com\/tsa-expands-invasion-to-ca-train-stations-bus-terminals\/\" target=\"_blank\">train stations<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.infowars.com\/houstonians-revolt-over-tsa-on-buses\/\" target=\"_blank\">public buses<\/a> \u2014 was never meant to thwart terrorists, but was instead set up to purposely obstruct, annoy, harass and train the American public.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, the court documents go a long way in proving the TSA is pure contrived security theater custom-made solely to indoctrinate Americans, through prisoner training, into blindly accepting obedience to authority as a normal way of life, not to mention a huge waste of about $7.91 billion in taxpayer money a year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.infowars.com\/tsa-loudspeakers-threaten-travelers-with-arrest-for-joking-about-security\/\" target=\"_blank\">TSA Loudspeakers Threaten Travelers With Arrest For Joking About Security<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/static.infowars.com\/bindnfocom\/2013\/10\/TSA_Service_Monkey.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"slb\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"TSA trying to make a monkey out of you.\" src=\"http:\/\/static.infowars.com\/bindnfocom\/2013\/10\/TSA_Service_Monkey.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"157\" \/><\/a>TSA trying to make a monkey out of you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Corbett has made quite the reputation of going after the agency.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, he made headlines when he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.infowars.com\/man-demonstrates-why-tsa-body-scanners-are-worthless-for-security-purposes\/\" target=\"_blank\">demonstrated how to thwart TSA body scanners<\/a> simply by sewing an object onto clothing.<\/p>\n<p>Corbett had also previously <a href=\"http:\/\/www.infowars.com\/lawsuit-tsa-claims-it-can-lie-to-the-public\/\" target=\"_blank\">filed a lawsuit challenging the TSA<\/a> after he was detained for an hour at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
