Taliban militants have attacked and destroyed a convoy of fuel tankers belonging to US-led foreign forces in the western part of Afghanistan, Press TV<\/b> reports.\n<\/p>\n
According to Afghan officials, the militants launched a rocket attack on the convoy, setting fire to 35 fuel tankers in Balablock district of Farah province on Wednesday.\n<\/p>\n
At least six drivers were reportedly killed and a dozen others were wounded in the assault.\n<\/p>\n
The Taliban has yet to make any comments on the incident. However, the responsibility for such incidents is fully placed on them.\n<\/p>\n
On August 23, Taliban militants torched four tankers carrying fuel for the US-led foreign forces in the eastern province of Wardak.\n<\/p>\n
The incident came after the militant\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s similar attack on US-led tankers in Farah province on August 16, in which four vehicles were destroyed.\n<\/p>\n
This is while a Taliban spokesman announced on July 25, that the militants have destroyed 15 NATO fuel tankers in Afghanistan\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s western province of Farah.\n<\/p>\n
The US and its allies invaded Afghanistan in 2001 under the pretext of war on terror. The offensive removed the Taliban from power, though violence has been on rise in recent years.\n<\/p>\n
