On the\u00a0same day<\/em>\u00a0that Secretary of State John Kerry announces that\u00a0we have to bomb Syria<\/a>\u00a0because the use of chemical weapons violate international rules, it was revealed that\u00a0CIA files prove that the U.S. supported Saddam Hussein\u2019s use of chemical weapons against Iran<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The irony is stunning \u2026<\/p>\n

The U.S.\u00a0literally<\/em>\u00a0defines terrorism as\u00a0other people doing what\u00a0we ourselves<\/em>\u00a0do<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n

It\u2019s Not Terrorism When WE Do It \u2026.<\/h3>\n

The United States is arguably the world\u2019s\u00a0largest sponsor of terrorism<\/a>, although we call it \u201cself defense\u201d and fighting \u201chumanitarian\u201d wars.<\/p>\n

But when other people \u2014 especially brown-skinned people who wear funny clothes \u2014 do the same things that we do, we label it as\u00a0terrorism<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Mark Selden –\u00a0Bartle Professor of History and Sociology at Binghamton University \u2014\u00a0explains<\/a>:<\/p>\n

American politicians and most social scientists\u00a0definitionally exclude<\/strong>\u00a0actions and policies of the United States and its allies\u201d as terrorism.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

For example, the American military\u00a0\u00a0indiscriminately kills innocent civilians<\/a>\u00a0(and see\u00a0this<\/a>), calling it \u201ccarefully targeted strikes\u201d. When others do it, we rightfully label it terrorism.<\/p>\n

When Al Qaeda, Syrians or others target people attending funerals of those killed \u2014 or those attempting to rescue people who have been injured by \u2014 previous attacks, we rightfully label it terrorism. But the U.S. government does\u00a0exactly the same thing<\/a>, without any criticism by government apologists.<\/p>\n

Torture is a recognized\u00a0form of terrorism<\/a>. The United States\u00a0has always considered waterboarding to be a crime of torture, including when the Japanese did it in WWII<\/a>\u00a0(and see\u00a0this<\/a>).<\/p>\n

But the government and its lackeys tried to say that American waterboarding in the \u201cwar on terror\u201d was not torture.\u00a0 When asked during his 2008 presidential bid whether waterboarding was torture,\u00a0Rudy Giuliani\u00a0answered<\/a>:<\/p>\n

It depends on the circumstances.\u00a0It depends on who does it<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Indeed, we have a long history of\u00a0using bombs and violence as a way to scare the civilian populations into seeing things our way<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
