The forces, who have surrounded the mosque, are said to be negotiating with demonstrators in an attempt to convince them to leave there.\n<\/p>\n<p>Witnesses say a woman has died inside the mosque after inhaling tear gas fired by security forces.\n<\/p>\n<p>Demonstrators inside the mosque have said that they are afraid of being detained by security forces or attacked by opponents of the Muslim Brotherhood.\n<\/p>\n<p>On Friday night, the security forces besieged the mosque at the end of another day of violence that left scores of people dead.\n<\/p>\n<p>The Brotherhood said gunfire has been going on around the mosque for some time, but security officials accused the protesters of shooting at police from inside the mosque.\n<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the day, tens of thousands of Morsi supporters took part in what they called the &#8220;Day of Rage&#8221; against the army and its handpicked government.\n<\/p>\n<p>The security forces and opponents of the Brotherhood fired on the supporters of Morsi &#8212; the country\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s first democratically elected leader &#8212; leaving more than 100 people dead and hundreds more injured across the Arab country.\n<\/p>\n<p>The Brotherhood denounced Friday\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s killings, saying the coup leaders had &#8220;lost their minds&#8221; and were devoid of any ethics and moral values.\n<\/p>\n<p>Egypt has plunged into unrelenting string of violence since General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the head of the Egyptian armed forces, announced on July 3 that Morsi was no longer in office, declaring chief Justice of Egypt\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s Supreme Constitutional Court Adly Mansour as the interim president.
