At least three people have been killed in an airstrike carried out by a US assassination drone in Yemen\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s southern province of Shabwa.<\/p>\n
The attack took place at dawn on Tuesday after the unmanned aircraft targeted a car carrying the three victims and blew it up in pieces, tribal sources said.<\/p>\n
The airstrike was second such attack carried out by US drones in Yemen in three days.<\/p>\n
On Saturday night, six people were killed in a similar attack in al-Mahfad district in the southern Abyan Province.<\/p>\n
The United States often uses its assassination drones to hit targets in Yemen and some other countries, including Pakistan and Afghanistan.<\/p>\n
Although the US claims it targets \u00c5\u201cmilitants,\u201d the facts on the ground show that civilians are frequently killed in the raids.<\/p>\n
According to the Washington-based the New America Foundation, the US killer drone attacks in Yemen almost tripled in 2012.<\/p>\n
