Iran\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Araqchi says national dialogue is the only solution to the recent crisis in Egypt, urging all sides of the conflict to exercise restraint.\n<\/p>\n
During his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Araqchi condemned the recent deadly incidents in Egypt and expressed regret over the death of a large number of Egyptian people over the past few days.\n<\/p>\n
The Iranian official called on all the concerned parties in Egypt to avoid further violence.\n<\/p>\n
Egypt has been the scene of rival rallies and clashes between the supporters and opponents of ousted President Mohamed Morsi, as political turmoil escalates in the country.\n<\/p>\n
Egypt\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s Health Ministry and emergency services said on Monday that more than 50 people had been killed during the clashes between the army and Morsi supporters outside the Republican Guard barracks in the capital, Cairo.\n<\/p>\n
\u00c5\u201cThe continuation of tension and conflict in Egypt has caused deep concern in all countries particularly regional states, and we are worried about the consequences of the violence and bloodshed inside Egypt and its outcome for the region,\u201d Araqchi added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Araqchi also urged respect for human rights, democratic principles and the legitimate demands of the people, as well as finding a solution based on national consensus and unity among the different groups in Egypt in order to maintain solidarity in the country.<\/p>\n
On July 3, General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the head of Egypt\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s army, announced that President Morsi was no longer in office. Sisi also dissolved the Egyptian constitution.\n<\/p>\n
The chief justice of Egypt\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s Supreme Constitutional Court, Adli Mansour, was sworn in as interim president on July 4.\n<\/p>\n
Morsi is reportedly being held \u00c5\u201cpreventively\u201d by the military. Senior army officials say he might face formal charges over accusations made by his opponents.\n<\/p>\n
