Egypt has detained a man for spying for Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency.<\/p>\n

Egyptian intelligence forces have detained a man on charges of collaboration with Israel\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s Mossad secret service for two years.\n<\/p>\n
The unnamed man – an employee in a private firm – was arrested on Saturday, and charged with working for Mossad since 2011.\n<\/p>\n
He reportedly filed a complaint to the Egyptian General Intelligence Directorate in 2012, claiming that Israel was trying to recruit him for spy work.\n<\/p>\n
The complaint is however believed to have been an attempt by the accused to cover up his espionage activities.\n<\/p>\n
Egyptian intelligence forces reportedly tracked the man for two years, whose movements allegedly included meetings in numerous countries with suspected Mossad agents.\n<\/p>\n
Egyptian officials have recovered spy gear and surveillance equipment, which had been in the possession of the man.\n<\/p>\n
Over the past few years, several people have been questioned or arrested over espionage charges in Egypt.\n<\/p>\n
On April 21, Egypt dismantled a spy cell in the border city of Rafah in North Sinai, which was working for Mossad.\n<\/p>\n
The police arrested the ringleader, who then blew the whistle on other members of the network.\n<\/p>\n
